Hi my name is Rocky , I live in sydney australia. As you can see
I'm starting a blog.
Ok, why would a mother (in her right mind) who is studying, looking
after her children and constantly working to keep her house clean
write a blog??
Well unfortunately folks its a long story. Hang in there and il tell
you. It's starts off not so pretty. I woke up today and realised I had
parked the car in an area that becomes a clearway at 7am so I got a
whopping 206$ ticket. Then the baby fell asleep right before I was
meant to leave for my exercise class, my friend who was going to take
me to an art studio got sick and when I decided to go to the Jewish
studies class I arrived, only to find out the class was cancelled
because the lady was interstate!
Oy vey! I wondered, did i awaken a curse or something? It seemed like nothing was
going right- and as always when you really need someone to talk to, no
one answers their phones!
Alright, I got home and started to do what relaxes me often, clean the
house ( I know its weird but it does!) As i washed the dishes I started thinking, I'm a Jew and a Chossid. (a follower of my spiritual guide "Rabbi M.M. Schneerson" affectionately
known as ' The Rebbe') Chassidus (the Rebbes teachings) emphasises how whatever happens, happens for a reason. And there is a lesson to be learnt from every experience. The days events were not then 'bad luck'-it was meant to be.
Hmm, So if it was meant to be then what is the lesson for me in all these things going wrong? Well, I noticed that when so called 'important' things in my life
started to go wrong i was upset at first, but then i started to notice
the little things in life that i trample over and brazenly 'expect'
G-d to create for me every day. Like my fully stocked pantry, the
smell of clean laundry, my iphone and my air conditioner (i live in sydney!)
So funnily enough after half an hour i was walking around the house and it was
as if a cover had been lifted. I saw so many things to be grateful for
that I never noticed! And I felt a happiness wash over my mind that
I'm usually too 'busy' for.
But that doesn't answer why I'm starting this blog?
The Rebbe teaches its not enough for a person to just grow and benefit
from their own experiences. He challenges all people to ask of
themselves - How can the world benefit from me and my experiences?
Well, i dont know about your answer to that question, but for today i have found mine;)
I am starting a blog. So Its a full circle: lifes events
happened, i learned a lesson from them and now there is a new positive
creation as a result- this blog.
I hope you enjoy it, and don't worry -I will never park in the spot
that becomes a clearway EVER AGAIN!
